**The Beginning**

My son, Ethan, was born on a beautiful spring day in 2005. He was a healthy, happy baby boy. He loved to smile and laugh. He was the light of my life.

When Ethan was just two years old, he was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. We were devastated. We didn't know what the future held, but we were determined to fight for Ethan.

**The Journey**

Ethan's cancer treatment was long and difficult. He had to endure multiple surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation. But through it all, he never gave up. He was always smiling and laughing. He was an inspiration to everyone who knew him.

In 2010, Ethan's cancer went into remission. We were so relieved and grateful. We thought that we had finally beaten the disease.

But in 2012, Ethan's cancer came back. This time, it was more aggressive than ever. We fought valiantly, but there was nothing we could do. Ethan passed away in my arms on a cold winter day in 2013.

**The Grief**

The loss of my son is the most painful thing I have ever experienced. I miss him every day. I think about him all the time. I wonder what he would be like today if he were still here.

The grief is overwhelming at times. But I am learning to cope. I am learning to live with the pain. I am learning to find joy in life again.

**The Love**

Even though Ethan is gone, I will never forget him. I will always love him. He will always be my son.

I am grateful for the time that I had with Ethan. I am grateful for the love that we shared. I am grateful for the memories that I will cherish forever.

**The Hope**

I know that Ethan is in a better place now. He is free from pain and suffering. He is with God.

I believe that I will see Ethan again one day. I believe that we will be reunited in heaven.

Until then, I will continue to live my life in honor of Ethan. I will continue to love him. I will continue to hope.
